Wake Up is a powerful minimalist interactive narrative in which you make choices that influence your own life and the lives of those around you as you attempt to rebel against an oppressive authoritarian regime.
Taking around 10 minutes to complete, Wake Up sees you taking on the role of an ordinary worker in a country that’s being oppressed by a strict authoritarian government. You have a choice of actions during each day, initially just involving simple actions such as waking up, drinking coffee and going to work, but things get a little more complicated later on as you form friendships and start to rebel against the government.
It’s a thought provoking game that manages to deliver a surprisingly amount of emotion through it’s minimalist visuals as you live out the day to day life of the protagonist – thanks largely to the excellent audio design throughout. A short and powerful experience well worth checking out.
