0_abyssalSomewhere is a stylish, surreal and captivating third person adventure that sees you discovering the memories, pains and regrets of an old sunken realm.
Although the gameplay is very different, the mysterious shadowy world of 0_abyssalSomewhere has a Dark Souls-esque vibe, with you learning more about it via cryptic messages and a deep sense of dread following you wherever you go. You take on the role of an unnamed protagonist wearing a full suit of armor, who ventures into the depths of a long forgotten place full of shadows, memories and ghosts. There are scary moments, but it’s not a horror game and there is some combat but it’s not an action game – it’s a surreal narrative driven experience that really gets under your skin as you trespass through a forgotten place that doesn’t want to be remembered.
Taking around 30 minutes to play through, 0_abyssalSomewhere really impresses with its fascinating game world, sombre atmosphere and fantastic retro visual style. It’s a remarkable experience that swallows you whole and fully immerses you in its dark, forgotten world. Highly recommended.
