1 Bit Survivor is a fast paced turn-based roguelite survival horror game where you attempt to save your pet cat during a mutant apocalypse.
In 1 Bit Survivor the world has been lost to a virus which has turned the inhabitants into bloodthirsty mutants. You are one of the survivors but the city you’re in is about to be nuked in 28 days time. You had given up on life and decided to accept your fate, but then you adopted a cute little pet cat and decided to fight tooth and nail to keep your new furry friend alive.
In each of the procedurally generated levels of 1 Bit Survivor you need to search the level and grab some gas to fill up your car and escape. Ammo and health pickups are also littered around the levels, but so are the mutants so you have to take care.
You can use melee or gun attacks, but the distance between you and your enemies can have a large effect on their power and can leave you open to attacks yourself. You only need to make it through 28 levels to win the game, but your health and ammo are limited and the mutants can quickly overwhelm you if you’re not careful.
It’s a very addictive game that’s easy to pick up and play, but offers a remarkable amount of challenge too. The mechanics are well thought out and the presentation is superb, with a great soundtrack and some excellent pixel art animation (especially for the reloads and health/ammo pickups). Highly recommended.
