10 HOURS BELOW is an interactive horror experience where you watch or scan through ten hours of footage of a house as it becomes submerged in flood water and sea monsters appear.
Created for the HPS1 Summer of Shivers game jam by Bastinus Rex (creator of HAMELIN), there’s not much in the way of interaction in 10 HOURS BELOW. You basically have access to 10 hours of video footage of a house being submerged in a flood, which you can skip through at will.
It’s quite a relaxing experience watching as the environment changes over the course of 10 hours, but there’s also something spooky going on there too. At certain points throughout the video one of three different types of monster will show up. Your aim is to find all three and observe their behavior, but there’s a LOT of footage so it may take some time.
You definitely won’t get an action packed experience with 10 HOURS BELOW, but it’s a very unique concept and watching the footage of the waterlogged house and its changing environment is oddly addictive. The monsters are also very cool, and it’s nice to be able to observe them in their habitat while not being worried they’ll come and eat you!
