A Day In The Lie is a very dark narrative experience that challenges the relationship between the player and the protagonist as you view the world through the eyes of a serial killer.
Taking around five minutes to play through, A Day In The Lie you listen to the inner musings of a serial killer and walk around a city. The American Psycho-esque narration of the serial killer makes you feel very uncomfortable as he explains in a very emotionless and matter-of-fact way what he does and why he does it. He’s an interesting character who remembers the faces of all his victim, but he feels no empathy for them and no guilt for what he has done.
To say too much more about A Day In The Lie will ruin the narrative, but it’s an excellent piece of storytelling with stylish pixel artwork and great voice narration and a revelatory ending. You’ll see the game from a very different perspective on your second playthrough.
