A Mirage of Home is an inventive little first person horror adventure where you can see spirits and otherworldly oddities via your phone.
In A Mirage of Home you find yourself locked up in a strange haunted house where a mysterious ritual was about to be carried out. You need to explore the house, search for clues, solve puzzles, complete the ritual and escape. Thankfully your phone’s camera can see into an alternate (spooky) version of the house which contains lots of useful clues. However, the camera only allows you to see behind yourself and there’s a dangerous spirit in the house somewhere too!
It would be nice if the evil spirit was in it a bit longer (or even popped up at the end of the Bad Ending), but even as it stands A Mirage of Home is a great little horror game with some very clever ideas and design touches. The differences between the real world and the spirit world are well implemented (with the kitchen area being a particular highlight) and the cat you can only see all the creepy stuff via your little phone screen makes it all the more eerie. Highly recommended.
