After School is a short and beautiful little adventure with artwork created entirely from paper, pencils and watercolours, that tells a tale of unrequited love as a young girl yearns for the object of her affections to just look up from his book and notice her.
Taking around five minutes to complete, the gameplay in After School is fairly simple, but it’s the story and gorgeous artwork that really packs a punch. It was created in a collaboration between Game Art students from ECV Bordeaux and Atelier Sentô, and offers up a powerful and emotional tale during it’s short playing time. Each day as she walks home from school the protagonist peers through her true loves window, watching him read his book, then she imagines their life together as she walks home.
Sure the girl may be a borderline stalker, but all she really wants is for her true love to notice that she exists – a fact that hits hard in the game’s poignant ending scene.
