ALTER EGO is a short narrative-driven point and click adventure where you attempt to discover the truth about your girlfriend’s murder.
In ALTER EGO you follow the story of a little mouse called Reese, who discovers their girlfriend dead in the kitchen with a knife sticking out of her. A terrifying tiger then accuses you of the murder and locks you up for the crime, but you need answers, so you make an escape and search for clues.
Taking around 15/20 minutes to play through, ALTER EGO takes place across a handful of locations which play like room escape games. In each one you need to search for useful items and solve puzzles. The puzzles are fairly easy, but fun and there’s a nice variety of different types.
It’s a great little game that has some fantastic artwork and has a much faster pace than most point and click puzzlers. The narrative is the standout though, it’s got a surprisingly poignant message that really hits hard. Highly recommended.
