Anchors is a short, powerful and personal little experience that explores the thoughts and coping mechanisms of someone who is passively suicidal.
In Anchors you go for a short walk through the streets of a city in the middle of the night and learn a deeply personal story of the developer’s trouble with mental health. As you walk the streets it tells of a dark time in their life when they were feeling passively suicidal, and how they learned to cope with it. All the while there are ominous sounds behind you that seem to represent the dark thoughts that follow you wherever you go.
Taking just a few minutes to play through, Anchors is a very short game, but it’s one that will stay with you long after completion. Its beautifully told narrative offers a little reassurance that when things get bad you can search for a small anchor of light that will help you hang in there for another day. Highly recommended.
