Ann is a narrative-driven horror adventure where a young woman becomes trapped inside an art school that undergoes a nightmarish transition at night.
In Ann you follow the story of a student called Ann who studies at the Delta Academy of Arts. It seems very much like a normal art college, but it has one strange rule – no students or staff are allowed to stay in the building after 9pm. Unfortunately for Ann, she accidentally falls asleep while working on a computer and accidentally breaks this rule. Now she finds herself trapped in a twisted nightmarish version of the college that’s haunted by the spirits of other students. As she tries to make her escape she comes across a security guard who may prove to be a vital ally against the nightmarish entities that haunt the school…
There are a few minor frustrations with the chase sequences in the game as the controls are a little imprecise. Other than that though, it’s a fantastic little horror game with a riveting story, interesting characters and inventive twists on traditional RPG Maker style gameplay. The pixel artwork and the hand animated cutscenes are excellent, and there are multiple very different endings to discover along the way. Highly recommended.
