Apotheosis of Fear is a powerful little narrative-driven first person adventure that tells a timely story of the impossible to imagine becoming true.
Drawing inspiration from Vasily Vereshchagin’s painting “The Apotheosis of War” , to say too much about the story in Apotheosis of Fear will ruin it, but it’s a remarkably powerful experience. It takes place over two acts and puts you in the shoes of a young girl as she explores two very different scenes. After you’ve played it through once, it’s worth playing through the first act again as the notes will make much more sense and are much more impactful.
Taking around ten minutes to play through, it’s a fantastic piece of storytelling that gets its point across loud and clear. The first act does a good job of making the story intimate and personal, while the imagery in the second act is breathtaking. Highly recommended.
