Arkannoyed is a reverse block-breaking arcade game where you attempt to protect your crown from a pesky paddle that keeps on hitting balls at it.
Created for the GMTK game jam, in Arkannoyed you essentially take on the role of the level designer in an Arkanoid style brick-breaking game. Each round you can place different types of bricks, with an aim of protecting the crown in the center. You are also a brick and you’re indestructible, but you’ll lose points if you get hit.
It’s a clever and addictive twist on a classic game genre, with excellent pixel art visuals and a satisfying game loop. It turns out block-building is just as fun as block-breaking !
