Atoll: The Last Ghost is a creepy little little retro styled horror game where you attempt to hunt ghosts in the remains of a city that’s been destroyed by evil spirits.
Playing much like a visual novel, but with some light turn-based combat mechanics, Atoll: The Last Ghost sees you venturing into an area where a catastrophic incident unleashed hordes of ghosts that are destroying the world. Some of these ghosts are friendly and some are hostile (one is even your father), but their mere presence is having a cataclysmic effect on the world. You will need to befriend/capture some ghosts and use them to help bring salvation to the world.
Atoll: The Last Ghost has quite a few rough edges (mostly the badly optimized text sizes) and the turn-based combat is very basic, but it’s a great little horror game nonetheless. The retro FMV-esque aesthetics work really well, the story is well told and the lore of the world is fascinating. An eerie little horror adventure with some great ideas.
