Bastardos is an awesome Outlaws inspired old school run n’ gun FPS, built in the Doom engine that sees you taking your lone gunman on an epic journey through the Wild West.
In Bastardos you take on the role of Boot Mckane, an infamous outlaw who is on a mission to take our the Bastardos gang. What this means for you is a healthy dose retro run n’ gun action in a Wild West setting. The levels are large and packed with secrets and the combat is fast, fun and frantic. Some of the enemies do seem like bullet sponges, but there’s a nice selection of weaponry, from machetes to gatling guns, that make dispatching those pixelated bandits a joy.
It’s a fun game, that’s perfect for a fix of Wild West gun toting action. Certainly worth checking out if you were a fan of the 1997 Outlaws game or if you’re looking for some six-gun shooting fun to tide you over until Red Dead Redemption 2 arrives!
