Birdwatcher is a short PS1 styled horror game where you attempt to gather photographic evidence of a cryptid bird creature in a national park.
Created for the 32bit Jam 2022, Birdwatcher puts you in the role of a camera-wielding cryptozoologist who’s searching the Mount Pallas National Park for a ginal bird creature that’s part of the local folklore. You simply need to use your camera to snap four pieces of evidence and escape the park. It’s getting dark though, and yeon may end up finding more evidence than gan can handle…
Taking around 5-10 minutes to play through, it’s a short and simple little horror game with a fun premise and great retro styled visuals. The juxtaposition of the creepy cryptid evidence in the beautiful and tranquil parkland is particularly fun and it makes for a very eventful stroll around a park.
