Blithe Episode 1: The Quiet Town is a beautifully hand drawn point and click cosmic horror adventure set within the lingering fragments of an existence that refuses to vanish.
In Blithe you take on the role of an unnamed protagonist who goes in search of a mysterious town called Blythe and an Arcanist rumored to live there. The world you live in is fragmented and decaying, with those that live in it are cursed to live on for an eternity. It’s all very strange and the people you meet are slipping into madness, though you seek an Arcanist who may hold some answers.
The current episode of Blithe takes around 30 minutes to play through and really impresses with its high quality hand drawn artwork, clever puzzle design and intriguing game world. There’s a Soulsian element to the world, with you getting very little of the story actually told to you directly and you piecing together the lore and narrative via environmental clues and conversations with strange characters. It’s a fascinating place to explore, and by the end of the episode you’ll be dying to see more of it.
