Bloodbark is an excellent retro styled first person horror game set in a cryptid-filled forest where the trees bleed blood.
Based on the works of artist Eduardo Valdés-Hevia, Bloodbark is a sanity-sapping horror game where you’re employed to chop down a strange type of tree that bleeds red blood as a defense mechanism. It has other defense mechanisms that may test your sanity and there are also various cryptids hiding in the forest too that you should keep an eye out for.
The first playthrough of Bloodbark takes about 30 minutes, but it’s worth playing through multiple times to discover the many hidden secrets and the alternate ending. It’s an excellent horror game that does a fantastic job of bringing Valdés-Hevia’s works to life. It’s packed full of fun little touches and the bleeding trees are remarkably unsettling. Highly recommended.
