Cage-Face is a tense little found footage horror game where a detective investigates some footage on a VHS tape of a homicidal maniac with a cage for a head.
Developed by Olinkalex, creator of The Possession Experiment, Cage-Face is a short and tense little first person (though technically second person) horror game about a monstrous killer who literally has a cage for a head. You take on the role of a detective as he examines evidence of the Cage-Face case at his desk.
There are various pictures and documents to look through, then when you insert a VHS tape of the event into your VHS player you take control of the victim as he explores the mines and tries to escape alive. Cage-Face isn’t that hard to avoid, but he’s not the only thing down there that can kill you – the caves fill with a toxic gas that will slow you down and kill you if you don’t make it in time.
Taking around 10 minutes to play through, it’s a fun little horror game with a great premise, lots of atmosphere and a very freaky monster. It would be nice to see more of Cage-Face as he’s a very intriguing monster who leaves you with some interesting questions – who is he? Why does he have a cage for a head? How does he see? Where is his brain? Is he related to Nicholas Cage? Hopefully, someday some of these questions will be answered!
