Caged Sun is a touching narrative adventure that deals with issues of bullying, peer pressure and abuse as three teenagers try to cope with what life throws at them.
Taking around twenty minutes to complete, Caged Sun is a collection of short stories that follows the stories of three adolescents and their helpful friend as they attempt to deal with the ‘monsters’ who are making their life hell. The monsters that they encounter are not born of fantasy, they’re real people – bullys, delinquent ‘friends’ and an abusive father. You can’t slay these monsters – you can only seek refuge and the comfort of friends who will help you through these tough times.
There are quite a few issues with grammar/translation (English is not the dev’s native language) but if you can look past that then you’ll find Caged Sun to be a powerful little narrative adventure that deals with some very real world problems in a thoughtful way. The pixel artwork and audio design are fantastic throughout and you go through a whole gambit of emotions as you spend a little time with those tortured adolescents – fear, anger, sorrow and hope. A thought provoking experience well worth checking out.
