Carbon Steel – Downloadable Game

Carbon Steel is an atmospheric puzzle horror game where you attempt to figure out how to work the machinery in a facility that’s committing some extremely unethical research.

Created by Mike Klubnika (creator of Unsorted VHS and Infineural), Carbon Steel is an unsettling puzzle horror game where you’ve signed up to work at a research facility with the promise of a lot of money for only three days’ work. However when you get to the research facility you find that it’s up to some pretty shady (and probably highly illegal) stuff.

Your job at the facility is to raise different dangerous organisms from the depths, sedate them and take a sample from them. However, they’re pretty hostile and you have no idea how to work the machinery. You’ll need to figure it out if you want to please your employers.

Taking around 20 minutes to play through (and featuring two different endings), it’s an excellent little game with an unsettling atmosphere and some very clever game design. The setting is also fascinating and feels very much like it could be set in the same universe as Mike Klubnika’s other games (especially The Other Side and Control Room Alpha). Highly recommended.

Controls: WASD – Movement, Mouse – Look, LMB – Interact, E- Use/Exit Computer.
