Originally released as part of the Dread X Collection, but now released for free, Carthanc is a very intense first person Sci-Fi horror game from Scythe Dev Team (creators of Happy’s Humble Burger Farm and The Northbury Grove Games). In the game you step into the shoes of an astronaut who was sent on a mission to investigate an alien planet called Carthanc. Your mission is to search for signs of life, take samples, film footage and figure out if it can sustain human life. However, it seems Carthanc may be more adept at ending human life rather than sustaining it…
Carthanc delivers a nice mixture of atmospheric horror, Sci-Fi mystery, puzzles and heart-pounding action during its 20-30 minute play time. It’s a tough game and you’ll die quite a lot, but it’s worth persevering with as you discover the ancient evil lurking at the heart of the planet. Highly recommended.
