Counterclockwise is a simple, stylish and addictive arcade game where you attempt to survive inside a large rotating cog as it speeds up and more hazards are added to it.
Created for Ludum Dare 47, in Counterclockwise you control a little ball as it rolls around the inside of a large rotating cog. Your goal is to survive until the counter in the center of the screen reaches zero, but to do so can be pretty tricky as the cog continually speeds up and more white obstacles and red deadly hazards are added.
It’s a simple concept that’s very well executed with a great pixel art visual style and addictive gameplay. You can kinda cheat by sitting on top of the white dot that appears in the center of the screen, but if you play it as you’re supposed to then it’s a very tricky game. A great little clockwork platformer well worth checking out.
