Crowscare is a wholesome, but also very dark and unsettling horror game about a young boy who wants a mother.
Created by arcadekitten, creator of Tricks N Treats and It’s Not Me, It’s My Basement (and guest starring characters from those games), Crowscare tells the story of Ryo, a young boy who lives in a quaint little town with his father. The town is a very pleasant place, although there are lots of scarecrows about which are said to be there to ward off an evil witch that lives in the woods. However, one day Ryo wanders into the woods after dark and makes some surprising discoveries…
Taking around an hour and a half to play through, Crowscare weaves a beautifully crafted tale as you follow Ryo’s adventure. The writing is excellent and there are lots of interesting real-life themes that are touched on in its darkly wholesome spooky world. It’s mainly a narrative-driven experience, but there are a few clever little puzzles too and three different endings to discover based on your actions. As with all arcadekittne’s games the artwork is also excellent and you really come to care for the characters. Highly recommended.
