Dark Spasm is a simple, stylish and fast paced old school Sci-Fi first person shooter where you blast robots and rescue prisoners as you attempt to escape to freedom.
Drawing inspiration from classics like Berzerk, Wolfenstein 3D, Doom and Xybots, Dark Spasm is an addictive retro FPS full of robot-blasting fun. In the game you take control of a humanoid prisoner who is attempting to escape from the prison facility they’re trapped in. There are three main levels (and one continuous procedurally generated one), each of which are full of secret areas to find, robots to blast and prisoners to free.
It’s quite a simple looking game but the pixelated retro visuals have a lot of charm and the gameplay is wonderfully fast paced. There’s a nice selection of weapons and enemies to dispatch and each level is full of secret areas and deadly ambushes to deal with. Well worth checking out for a bit of retro run n’ gun fun.
