DayBreak is a short and stylish top down action adventure game that sees you using your teleporting skills to avoid the darkness as you battle corrupt stars and attempt to restore light to an enchanted forest.
In DayBreak you control a little mage who has the ability to teleport across short distances and you can also bang your staff on the ground to fend off swimming enemies. The enchanted forest you are in has been plunged into darkness as corrupted stars have stolen the light from the sun. There are some areas that are still lit up that you are safe in, but if you stray out into the darkness you’ll start taking damage immediately.
To make your way through the forest you need to teleport between the light areas – which can be quite tricky as some of them move. Also now and again you’ll come across clusters of corrupted stars that you need to fend off with your staff attack – it has quite a long cooldown between attacks though so you’ll have to dodge the stars while it recharges.
Taking around 10 minutes to playthrough DayBreak is a fairly simple little adventure, but it’s fun while it lasts and impresses with it’s interesting gameplay mechanics and great visual style. A stylish shadow filled adventure well worth shining a light on.
