Dead Estate is a beautifully animated isometric pixel art roguelike shooter where you attempt to blast your way through four floors of a monster-filled mansion.
In Dead Estate you can step into the shoes of either an old trucker or a young student as they fight their way through a creepy mansion they end up in after getting a flat tire. Jeff the trucker has a handgun and Jules the student has a shotgun, which will certainly come in handy as the mansion is jam-packed full of freaky monsters with a taste for flesh.
The core gameplay in Dead Estate is pretty similar to The Binding of Isaac, with you fighting your way through a randomly generated grid-based maze, collecting stackable puwer-ups and battling big bosses. There are multiple different weapons to find and a shop to purchase useful perks from, but you don’t want to dawdle on each floor – a big near-unkillable monster will start chasing you if you take too long.
It’s a great little roguelike shooter with fast paced gameplay, a fun premise and fantastic pixel art animation. A freaky monster-filled house well entering for a bit of spooky shooter fun.
