Death Bind is a fun little twin-stick survival shooter where you control two characters who always position themselves back-to-back as they attempt to stave off hordes of attacking zombies.
Created for the Brackeys Game Jam 2021.1, Death Bind is a top-down shooter where you attempt to survive for as long as possible against waves of attacking zombies. It’s playable in one player or local 2 player co-op and sees you controlling the movement of one character with the WASD keys and the other with the arrow keys. Each character has a different type of default gun and you can pick up more powerful guns (with limited ammo) when they spawn on the map.
No matter where you move the characters on the screen they will stand back-to-back so they can protect each other from zombies. They auto-attack any zombies in their sight radius, so your main concern is maneuvering the two buddies so they can keep out of harm and dispatch zombies. If one of them does get bitten then you need to find the cure and inject them before they turn into a zombie.
It could do with ramping up the difficulty a little quicker but it’s a fun little game with excellent pixel art animation and a great core concept. The way the two buddies manoeuvre around each other feels great and it’s a fun core mechanic that would be great for expending on.
