Ded Guy is a rage inducingly tough precision platformer where you use the recoil of your gun to propel you to the heart of an undead world so that you can rest in peace.
In Ded Guy you control a cute little skeleton who has mysteriously been brought back from the dead alongside a few more of your undead buddies. You’re not too keen on being undead and yearn to return to your grave and rest in peace, but first you’ll have to venture into the heart of the undead world to stop whatever force has brought you back.
Traversing the stylish pixel art landscape of Ded Guy isn’t easy – the deviously designed levels are filled with deadly spikes and pitfalls. You do have a nifty little gun to help you get through though. It isn’t used to kill enemies (there are none), instead you use the recoil to propel you through the air, with the gun reloading each time you touch a wall or land on a floor.
It is an extremely tough game that takes skill and perseverance to beat. The fact that it’s browser based and not playable in full screen is a little unfortunate as your mouse can easily go out of the clickable area at inopportune times, leading to your imminent demise. Aside from that minor niggle, it’s a great game that really impresses with its stylish pixel art visuals and addictive just-one-more-go gameplay. See if you’ve got what it takes to rest in peace!
