Deeper Devils is a fun little speedrunning FPS where you spend the majority of your time falling and you use bullets, enemies and the walls to slow your descent.
Created for Ludum Dare 48, in Deeper Devils your aim is to reach the bottom of each level as fast as possible. You only have three lives per level so you need to be careful to dodge bullets and red colored hazards. Your gun is not only handy for shooting enemies in your way, it can also be used to slow your descent. You can also slide down the side wall to slow yourself down and you can bounce on enemies heads (which also reloads your gun).
There are only four levels and they can be beaten quite quickly, but it’s a fun little game that would be great for expanding on (even with a procedurally generated endless mode). The cartoony visuals look great and figuring out the fastest route through each level is a lot of fun. A bite sized FPS well worth dropping in on.
