Different Strokes is a wonderful online collaborative painting game where you wander around an infinite art gallery, paint your own art and make alterations to other people’s art.
Created for Ludum Dare 50, in Different Strokes you visit an art gallery that’s very much a work in progress. As you wander the gallery there are completed artworks you can vote on, incomplete art you can add to and blank canvases you can create your own artworks on from scratch.
Each artwork needs to be painted on by two different visitors before it’s completed and hung and voted on. You have total freedom to paint whatever you like, which obviously means lots of pictures of genitals will make an appearance, but that’s a huge part of the fun in Different Strokes – you can transform dick pics into something more family friendly with a few creative brushstrokes.
It’s a fantastic concept with a wholesome setting and painting tools that allow for a good amount of detail. Fixing bad art is particularly enjoyable and is an ingenious way of weeding out all those dick pics!
