Doesn’t Mean to be Mean is a delightfully dark and humorous first person Sci-Fi adventure that sees you attempting to solve puzzles and make moral decisions while being goaded by a sarcastic and rather untrustworthy robot.
In Doesn’t Mean to be Mean you take on the role of a human who wakes up from cryosleep in a spaceship 170 years early and must now reach the communications center to call for help. To reach the communications center you’ll have to make your way through four levels of the ship, often requiring you to solve puzzles or deal with moral dilemmas.
You still haven’t regained your memory after the cryosleep so you don’t really know what’s going on or how to reach the communications center, but ‘luckily’ for you there is a sarcastic AI controlled robot onboard that will aid you. The robot isn’t the most trustworthy of characters though and will always encourage you to do the most morally wrong action – will you follow it’s advice or will you make up your own mind?
Taking around 30 minutes to play through, Doesn’t Mean to be Mean really impresses with it’s intriguing Sci-Fi narrative, witty dialogue and your less than compassionate robotic companion. A fun little SCi-Fi mystery well worth waking out of cryosleep early for.
