Double Dragon Reloaded: Alternate is an awesome fan made Double Dragon game that incorporates elements from Double Dragon 1, 2 and Advance, and has 10 playable characters – two of which are WWF legends Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior!
A fan made project created in the OpenBOR engine, Double Dragon Reloaded: Alternate is playable in single player or local co-op and allows you to play through a remixed version of the Double Dragon. The gameplay is similar to the original arcade game, but there are extra stages, new weapons, character moves taken from Double Dragon Advance and there are now 10 playable characters.
The playable characters on offer include alternate versions of Billy and Jimmy, a selection of goons (Roper, Williams, Linda and Bolo), the machine gun toting end boss and the stars of the show – Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior. Hogan and Warrior both have their own unique wrestling moves and you can even pull off taunts (such as Hulk Hogan’s classic Ear Cup). They can only use the big throwable weapons, but you don’t really need weapons when you have access to suplexes, knee drops, gorilla presses and piledrivers!
Double Dragon Reloaded: Alternate is already an excellent fan made remix of an arcade classic in its own right, but the addition of Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior transforms the game into the WWF (or WWE) beat ‘em up you always wanted. Also, if you’re playing in co-op then that final showdown between the two players becomes a fight to the death between two wrestling legends! Highly recommended.
