Eli is a short, stylish and intense twin-stick bullet hell shooter where you blast demons and powerful bosses with your upgradable guns.
In Eli you control a little character with a couple of big guns, who uses them to blast increasingly challenging swarms of baddies and bosses in different arenas. At the start of the game you can choose a loadout of two guns from your armoury, each with their own unique attributes (most of which are unlockable by achieving different goals). The guns are pretty weak initially, but as you progress you can pick up orbs which upgrade them into demon killing machines.
There are two game modes (Heaven or Hell) each with three arenas (and one secret one), which see you blazing hordes of demons and dealing with a mid-boss and a main boss. Boss fights turn the game into a full on bullet hell game, with you attempting to weave between bullets as they fill the screen.
Aside from the fact that it can be a little tricky to keep track of your hit-box, Eli is a fantastic little bullet hell shooter that’s perfect for a bit of adrenaline fuelled demon blasting fun. The pixel art animation and soundtrack are excellent and there’s a nice variety of weapons to try out and upgrade. You’ll need some serious skill to beat it!
