Enter & Survey is a tense and atmospheric Sci-Fi first person horror game where you see the 3D world by painting it with LiDAR arrays.
Created for the Mini Jam 111, in Enter & Survey you take control of a humanoid robot who has been sent into an AI research facility to retrieve some important data. However, you can only see the environment by painting the walls with LIDAR arrays (a little like throwing paint in The Unfinished Swan), and there’s a murderous robot roaming the halls who is attracted by your LiDAR scans.
It’s a clever concept that’s very well executed and provides some very tense moments as you scrabble about in the darkness attempting to evade the robot. The effect of painting the environment with your dot matrix-esque LiDAR arrays is very cool, and the risk/reward of using it is a nice touch. Highly recommended.
