ETHER is a creepy little 2D horror adventure where you solve cleverly designed puzzles as you traverse a dark labyrinth and attempt to awaken a powerful demon.
In ETHER you take control of a mysterious protagonist who has entered a dark labyrinth with an aim of awakening the demon that slumbers at the heart of it. As you make your way through the labyrinth you solve series of cleverly designed puzzles to tackle along the way, often requiring you to pay close attention to clues in the environment. There’s a very dark and oppressive atmosphere throughout, but the terror ramps up towards the end when it turns out that you’re not alone in that labyrinth…
It takes around 20 minutes to play through ETHER and it really impresses with it’s challenging puzzles, minimalist monochrome pixel art visuals and atmospheric audio which helps build a deep sense of dread. The labyrinth very much feels like it’s full of dark magic and it feels suffocating and claustrophobic the deeper you delve into it. Highly recommended.
