Flipside is a super tough side scrolling shoot-em-up in which you control two ships that are linked together, which must rotate around a fixed axis to avoid attacks then join together to fire at the randomly generated bosses whenever you get a chance.
Flipside is VERY hard – your inability to move the axis that you’re fixed to means that whenever you move one ship out of peril, the other one is in danger. You have to master the skill of snaking your ships around the obstacles that hurtle at you, and hopefully surviving long enough to reach a safe spot to join the ships and fire your (super powerful) weapon.
The control scheme of Flipside does make for some super tough rage-quit inducing gameplay, but it also offers up a refreshingly unique take on the age old side scrolling shoot-em-up. Very tough, very stylish and very addictive.
