FROSTBITE: Deadly Climate is a tense and cerebral first person survival horror adventure that draws inspiration for John Carpenter’s The Thing and Resident Evil as you attempt to survive in an Arctic Research facility that’s been ravaged by a deadly alien organism.

FROSTBITE: Deadly Climate is a much expanded reboot of the original FROSTBITE game that we covered on Free Game Planet back in July. In the game you take on the role of an Arctic biologist who has ended up at an abandoned research facility after getting lost in a snow storm. The facility will give you some respite from the icy winds, but it is without power and something terrible seems to have befallen the research crew that were posted there.

It plays a little like Resident Evil with a nice mix of exploration, resource/inventory management and combat, but from a first person perspective and with more challenging puzzles. FROSTBITE: Deadly Climate stays clear of using cheap jump scares, instead focusing on building up a tense and dread-filled atmosphere. You will come up against monsters, but they can generally be dispatched with a few well aimed shots – the real thing to be scared of is the frostbitten Arctic setting and the constant threat of freezing to death alone in the middle of nowhere. An intense and intelligent first person survival horror that really will give you chills.
