Funeralopolis is a slow burn apocalyptic horror game where the city is in perpetual darkness and a strange crack has appeared in your kitchen wall.
In Funeralopolis the city of Huta-Grobno is gripped by an unsettling mystery. There are rumors of a strange liquid and unexplained deaths, and ever-present smoky grey clouds have blocked out the sun. You’re trapped in your apartment block and the city is under lockdown by The Church, but you can keep up with the news (and do a little eavesdropping on The Church) via a radio. However, one day you find a mysterious crack in your kitchen wall and things take a turn for the worse.
Taking around an hour to play through, Funeralopolis is a fantastic game that immerses you in the world and fills you with a creeping dread. It’s a linear slow-burn horror game that doesn’t rely on cheap jump-scares. Instead the horror comes from impending doom hanging over the city, the fear of getting caught by The Church and the fear that your actions may end up dooming you and the people you’ve spent time getting to know. Highly recommended.
