Ghost Hunt is a super tough little PICO-8 powered boss fighting arcade game where you must learn how to dodge attacks as you attempt grab and fire arrows at a powerful boss.
In Ghost Hunt you have a single boss to beat and three static crossbows stationed around the small area you’re confined to. You need to grab the various arrows that spawn and shoot them at the boss. Sounds easy? Yeah right! The boss has a lot of deadly abilities that it attacks you with and you have to figure out the best way of avoiding them to survive. Thankfully the text in the top left corner of the screen does warn you about what attack is coming up, but even when you know them some of them are pretty hard to dodge.
You’ll need some real skill to beat Ghost Hunt on anything other than the easiest difficulty setting, but it’s a lot of fun trying. The pixel art visuals are great, the chip-tune music is very catchy (though it’s turned off by default), and the boss battling gameplay is satisfyingly challenging. Good luck, you’ll need it!
