Golden Light Of Rose is an intense roguelite survival horror FPS where meaty monsters disguise themselves as everyday objects.
Drawing inspiration from Prop Hunt, Golden Light Of Rose is a short spin-off of the excellent Golden Light, and follows the story of a Rose (an NPC character from the main game). The gameplay is pretty similar to the main game, with you attempting to find keys on each procedurally generated level and make your way to the exit elevator.
In each levely you’ll find weapons, special items with randomized effects, friendly NPCs and lots of meaty mimics who hide in plain sight disguised as everyday objects. Between each level there are also surreal monster-free areas where you’ll learn more about Rose’s story, and there’s even a secret level to discover too.
As with the original game, the randomness of the weapon drops in Golden Light Of Rose can feel a little unfair at times but if you manage to get a good run then it’s a hell of a lot of fun. It’s a very intense experience, the meaty monsters are very freaky and there’s plenty of weird lore to discover. A meaty monstrosity well worth sinking your teeth into.
