Golf: Become Human is a strange, surreal and super tough mini-golf adventure where you have been turned into a golf ball and must impress a god by completing trials to earn back your humanity.
Easily one of the weirdest golfing games you’ll ever play, Golf: Become Human starts off as a simple looking mini-golf game but morphs into something very different as you play. In the game you take on the role of a human who has been transformed into a golf ball and you must complete seven trials to get your body back.
The trials take the form of mini-golf holes set in a vaporwave styled world that’s run by a god who chats to you intermittently. The first few levels are fairly standard mini-golf styled holes, with you simply having to aim and hit the ball into the hole in as few shots as possible. However, once you reach level 4 things start to get pretty weird…
From level 4 onwards the level design gets much stranger, with sprawling levels where the gameplay shifts from simple golfing to rock climbing, platforming and flying. Towards the end it’s got more in common with Flappy Bird and Getting Over It With Bennet Foddy than anything resembling the age old game of golf (and it’s all the more better for it).
It all makes very little sense, but if you’re looking for a silly, stylish, surprising and challenging golfing adventure then Golf: Become Human has you covered. There’s nothing quite like it! Highly recommended.
Note: We encountered a few crashes on some of the larger levels. However, if you reload the game and knock your ball off the edge of the level then you’ll respawn at the checkpoint you were at before the crash.
