Han’yo is a beautiful hand drawn 2D combat game where skill and timing are required as a young samurai girl sets out for vengeance.
Created by a group of students from the DigiPen Institute of Technology, Han’yo is a side-scrolling action game that follows a young samurai girl whose family was slaughtered by the Oni. Now as she seeks vengeance she’ll fight her way through beautiful hand drawn landscapes in intense 1v1 duels where a single blow means death.
The combat in Han’yo requires you to read and react to your opponent’s attacks to parry them and strike when they’re vulnerable. Attacks can be high, middle or low and you need to have the correct parry stance to stop them. It’s a very tactical and high-stakes combat style where one slip-up can mean the difference between life and death. See if you can survive it!
