Happy’s Humble Burger Barn is a funny and freaky PS1 styled first person horror game where things get weird as you work the night shift at a fast food restaurant.
Created by Scythe Dev Team (creators of the Northbury Grove games), Happy’s Humble Burger Barn blends fast food chef simulation with horror and humor as you put in a shift at Happy’s Humble Burger Barn – home of the delicious Happy’s Deluxe Burger. After driving to work and clocking in you’ll cook burgers, pour drinks, serve fries and salmon nuggets, take out the trash, use the cash register and change the music that’s pumped out into the restaurant. Someone keeps locking your out and the Happy mascot seems to move on its own, but best not to think about that…
Taking around 30 minutes to play through, Happy’s Humble Burger Barn is a great little horror game that’s full of clever little touches. The burger chef simulation element is fun in itself, with a detailed and intuitive recreation of the job. Meanwhile, the horror element is handled expertly, building a great sense of atmosphere, undercutting it with a great bit of humor and hitting you with an ending you wouldn’t see coming in a million years. Highly recommended.
