In The Mountains is a very tense and atmospheric PS1 styled first person horror game where you discover a mysterious facility while hiking in the mountains.
In In The Mountains you find yourself caught in a snowstorm while hiking in the mountains. You seek refuge in a large cave, but at the back of the cave there’s an entrance to a mysterious abandoned facility that goes deep down into the heart of the mountain…
The lighting of some of the early areas of In The Mountains is a little too dark to see, but once you get into the more illuminated areas it’s a very impressive game. It’s got an incredibly tense atmosphere and the PS1 styled visuals work really well. There’s a distinct Lovecraftian/Eldritch vibe to the story and there’s a real sense of dread as you descend deeper into the facility. You just know that the deeper you go, the less chance that you’ll have of ever making it out alive. Highly recommended.
