It Is As If You Were Doing Work is a pointless, frustrating and oddly addictive little game in which you perform menial admin tasks on your virtual desktop, earning meaningless promotions for your efforts.
In It Is As If You Were Doing Work you sit at your desktop and must carry out an endless bombardment of admin work that is sent to you. These requests just pop up on your screen with no notice, often interupting the task you were originally doing. They generally require you to do stuff like type a report that’s X amount of words long or adjust settings and sliders.
Much like in real life, it’s mindless, monotonous and frustrating work that rewards you with the occaisional promotion and coffee break in which you can play an impossible Breakout clone to relax. As frustrating as it is though, it’s also strangely addictive as you continually strive to get your work done and unclutter your desktop with all the pop-ups. ‘Fun’ is probably the wrong word to describe this game, but you’ll be amazed at how much it can suck you in.
