Jesus Take the Wheel is a fun little arcade driving game where you help Jesus take control of vehicles after their owners fall asleep while driving on the freeway.
In Jesus Take the Wheel you control Jesus’ long bendy arms as he reaches out and tries to save people on the freeway. Vehicles drive upwards along the freeway, doling out prayers for you to receive as they go. Unfortunately they’re not exactly the best of drivers and will just drive blindly onwards, fall asleep at the wheel or get drunk. It’s up to the almighty son of God to use his Jesus powers to try and save them (or at least stave off their untimely demise until the next checkpoint).
At each checkpoint you’ll be able to choose from a selection of vehicles, each with their own stats to add to the mix. More vehicles means more prayers (which allow you to drive vehicles), but it also means there’s more vehicles to control, requiring you to multitask as you switch between them and try to keep them out of harm’s way.
The cars can be a little unresponsive at times, but once you get to grips with it Jesus Take the Wheel is a fun little game with a great visual style and wonderfully silly premise. Trying to keep the vehicles out of harm’s way is a real challenge and there can be some pretty spectacular crashes when things go wrong. Jesus may not ultimately save many lives during the course of the game, but it’s great fun trying!
