Layton’s Mystery Journey: Real World Puzzle Solving is a cool new browser based puzzle adventure in which players work together to solve the fifty puzzles that materialise in real world locations around the world.
Released to celebrate the new Layton’s Mystery Journey game that’s coming to iOS, Android and 3DS, Layton’s Mystery Journey: Real World Puzzle Solving will take place over a three month periods with fifty puzzles materializing around the world. Each puzzle is teased with a real world location and a time, then when it appears there, people are encouraged to take photos of them and share them with others around the world. These photos are then uloaded to the game and players can attempt to crack them.
The puzzles on offer are a substantially harder than you’ll generally find in a normal Layton game, but you can use hint coins and there’s also assistance in the form of the TRANSLAYTON – a chat system with automatic translation so you can communicate with others around the world. Complete puzzles successfully and you’ll earn picarats that’ll earn you a place on the global leaderboard, and you can also unlock bonus items for the full game when it releases.
It’s a fun game that’s certain to test your grey matter with it’s cleverly crafted puzzles and it’s nice to have a social aspect to it as well as puzzlers as usually solitary experiences. So what are you waiting for? There’s puzzles to be solved!
