Le Dernier Don (The Last Gift) is a freaky little first person horror game set in a WWI era French orphanage that performed horrifying experiments.
Created by a group of students from the School of Digital Arts, Le Dernier Don follow the story of a young orphan who was thrown into a broom closet for the night after disobeying the mistress. When she emerges it seems that a lot of time has passed. The place seems deserted, except for a freaky kid with eyes on her forehead and an even freakier monster with spider-like arms. As you explore you’ll discover what happened there and hopefully live to tell the tale.
Taking around 20 minutes to play through, it’s a fairly short and linear game with an interesting story, freaky monster designs and a very tense atmosphere. The environmental design is particularly impressive and does a great job of relaying the sinister things that went on at the orphanage. Highly recommended.
