Legend of Princess is an awesome re-imagining of The Legend of Zelda series in which you battle enemies, discover secrets, collect loot and battle bosses in a fast, fun and beautifully animated side scrolling hack and slash adventure.
Taking around 20 minutes to complete, in Legend of Princess you take control of Bind, a green tunic wearing hero who sets forth to save a princess who’s being held captive inside a temple. Although it draws inspiration from the Zelda games, the gameplay is very different, with fast paced arcade combat that feels a bit like a hack and slash version of Metal Slug.
In Legend of Princess you’re given a choice of different weaponry to start with then set forth on your quest to save the princess. There’s a nice selection of Zelda inspired enemies to slice your way though, lots of rupees to collect, secrets to find and bosses to fight. The bosses are a particular highlight, each one beautifully animates and with unique attack patterns for you to learn, and exploit.
The devs at Konjak have clearly put a lot of love into this game and it really pays off, with a short, spectacle-filled action adventure that will delight Zelda fans and action platformer fans alike. Once you’ve finished playing Legend of Princess, we highly recommend checking out the devs other games too, they’re all fantastic (especially Iconoclasts and Chalk).
