Life in the Static is a stylish little puzzle platforming adventure where you use your ability to freeze time to make your way through its static-filled world.
In Life in the Static you control a cute looking little monster/ghost who must use their time-freezing ability to help them get through a series of challenging levels. Your character is nice and responsive, able to jump and double-jump with a high degree of precision – which comes in handy as the levels are filled with deadly hazards for you to avoid. Your time-freezing ability comes in handy to – with you able to freeze everything in place at the touch of a button and even turn enemies into platforms that you can stand on.
There’s not much in the way of narrative in Life in the Static, but it’s got a great sense of atmosphere and the levels offer a nice amount of challenge while never being infuriating. It’s not often nowadays that you get a 2D platformer that’s not designed to make you tear your hair out with the difficulty, so it’s nice to have a short and sweet little platformer that requires precision but not perfection from its players. Highly recommended.
